Privacy Policy — GeekMedia

Last Updated: September 25, 2026

Introduction

GeekMediaServer and GeekMediaClient (together, “GeekMedia”) create a personal media system between devices you control. This policy explains the information processed by the apps.

No Developer Data Collection

GeekMedia does not create a BOMJ Labs account and does not send your media, library, viewing activity, credentials, diagnostics, or usage statistics to BOMJ Labs. The apps contain no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics.

Information Stored on Your Devices

GeekMedia may locally process and store selected folder bookmarks; filenames, paths, technical metadata and thumbnails; server names and addresses; preferences; downloads; profiles and profile names; watched, new and safety status; and local activity or diagnostic logs. Your media remains on the server or client devices you choose.

Local and User-Selected Network Communication

Clients use Bonjour or local-network scanning to discover servers and communicate directly with the GeekMediaServer selected by the user. Catalog, playback, profile and diagnostic requests may be sent to that server. If you configure remote, VPN or forwarded access, you are responsible for that network and its security.

Credentials, Profiles and Diagnostics

GeekMediaClient stores saved pairing credentials in the device Keychain. GeekMediaServer stores its access settings locally; profile PINs are salted and hashed. The server may keep bounded local logs containing request, device, network and error details for troubleshooting. These records are not sent to BOMJ Labs unless you deliberately share them.

Apple TV, LG TVs and Other Third-Party Devices

Apple, Apple TV, tvOS, the Apple TV app, LG, webOS, the television manufacturer, network equipment or other connected services may independently collect device analytics, viewing-related information, voice data, automatic content recognition data or other telemetry according to their settings and privacy policies. GeekMedia does not control or receive that independent collection. BOMJ Labs is not responsible for data collected or processed independently by those third parties, except where applicable law provides otherwise. Review the privacy settings and policies of every device and service you use.

Lawful Media Use

GeekMedia does not provide movies, television programs, music or streaming subscriptions. Use GeekMedia only with media that you created, own, licensed, or are otherwise legally entitled to access. BOMJ Labs strongly discourages illegally obtaining, copying, sharing or streaming copyrighted media. You are responsible for your media and compliance with applicable laws.

Retention, Deletion and Your Choices

Local data remains until you remove it, clear logs, delete profiles or downloads, reset the app, uninstall it, or the operating system removes temporary data. Device and network permissions can be changed in system settings. Because BOMJ Labs does not receive this data, it has no server-side user record to retrieve or delete.

Security and Children

No software or network can guarantee absolute security. Protect your devices, network, pairing tokens and backups. GeekMedia is not directed to children under 13 and BOMJ Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the apps.

Updates and Contact

Updates to this policy will be reflected in the date above. Questions may be sent to BOMJ Labs through the App Store listing, official website or feedback form.
